Top Ten Tuesday. Deserted Island Picks

Oh no! You've just found yourself stranded on a deserted island. Luckily, you find some book characters have been washed up beside you. Stella and I (Claire) certainly have some ideas on who would be the most help to have while fighting for survival.

1 & 2. William and Elizabeth (The Swiss Family Robinson)
In their classic tale of survival, they face the exact same issue and end up being awesome. They get washed up on a tropical island with their kids, and go on lots of adventures, stay alive, and make every kid's dream treehouse. They manage to create an everyday life while having lots of fun too! Their kids wouldn't be that bad to be stranded with either.

3. Katniss Everdeen (The Hunger Games)
If there is one thing Katniss knows how to do, it's stay alive in a crisis. She might not be as fun as William and Elizabeth, but she's going to be very resourceful and loyal. She'll be able to hunt down food, climb trees and cliff sides, and find shelter for her group. Her skills would help keep you alive until help arrives.

4. Hermione Granger (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone)
She's the brightest witch of her class, which means not only will she think of smart ways to help us stay alive, but she's got magic. She'll have no issue duplicating coconuts, catching fish, or poofing up a sweet little house. Plus, she might even be able to magic up a boat and get us off.

5. Percy Jackson (The Lightning Thief)
So not only is Percy really good company on this island, but he's the son of Poseidon, the God of the Sea. It would take him 10 minutes to get some dolphins to whisk us away into the sunset, and even if we were stuck for some reason he'd be great protection and an awesome fisherman to get us food. The perfect castaway partner!

(Stella's turn!)

6. Sherlock Holmes (Sherlock Holmes)
Okay, Sherlock Holmes is the boss. He's my Holm-boy, if you know what I mean! Anyway, this man is not only brilliant, but can throw down quite nicely. He is remarkably witty, and uses his intelligence to better himself at fighting. It's all about strategy for him, and that could come in a lot of handy when hunting animals or even finding a safe place to sleep. Welcome to the island Mr. Holmes.

7. Linh Cinder (Cinder)
Cinder is on my list for a few reasons. She's a mechanic, so she's good with
her hands which can be handy with making food traps. She can also use her knowledge and advanced technology to build us a nice house. There are so many gadgets and gizmos she has, including the tools built into her arm and leg. She could easily make us a raft for fishing or even an escape boat, if we're lucky! Just make sure she doesn't loose her foot! (Sorry, bad pun!)

8. Tris Prior (Divergent)
She's Divergent bitch! There's not much more I can say. She takes no prisoners, she doesn't have many fears, she's pretty kick ass. I think she is a strong female character who I would love to have along on this journey. I think she would be a great asset to the team. Plus, she is the only character that I know to face a crazy obstacle and just say, "This isn't real." BOOM!

9. Annabeth Chase (The Lightning Thief)
Well, we can't have Percy without Annabeth, now can we? Besides being a demigod is major brownie points. Not to mention she is the daughter of Athena, goddess of wisdom and battle strategy. There are a million reasons why that is a HUGE help. Plus it will be nice to have some girl power up in here!

10. Number Four/John Smith (I Am Number Four)
First of all let's clear one thing up. This is Four from the "Lorien Legacies", NOT "Divergent"! Difference? This Four is WAY cooler! First of all, he's adorable. Second, he's an alien. And third, well, he's adorable! But if you are still confused, I'll call him by his Earth name, John. So as an alien, John has many assets. The main being his powers. Some of his Garde powers include, telekinesis, animal telepathy, precognition (ability to see the future), healing, and Lumen (the ability to produce fire, heat, and light from his hands. Also, makes him resistant to these things). The animal telepathy would be a great help for when we need to eat, it may lead us to more animals or calm them down. Healing is extraordinarily helpful when you're in the wilderness, you never know when you could get hurt and it's not like there's doctors out there! A powerful and final addition to the team.
